It's six acres of jungle on the Nile — real weather, real animals, a garden that never stops growing.
Here's the useful stuff before you arrive.
We're about 5km from Jinja and 3km from Bujagali, along the Budondo road.
Our road isn't currently on Google Maps, so don't rely on it to find the gate — we'll send you the correct pin and directions when you book.
Coming by public transport? Get to Jinja and take a boda from Ambercourt. We can also arrange a boda to collect you, or help organise private transport.
The road in is a little rough, and low-clearance cars may struggle a little on the drive — worth bearing in mind if you're self-driving.
If you're arriving after dark, please tell us — the Jungle gets very dark and we can't guarantee someone will be waiting at the gate unless we know you're coming.
Check-in 3–7pm, check-out 11am. Arriving later? Just let us know in advance. Need a late checkout? Ask — we'll do our best if we can.
A torch or headlamp, swimwear, shoes you don't mind getting muddy, insect repellent, a light jumper for evenings, a book, and a sense of adventure. Binoculars if you have them.
We have Wi-Fi, plus solar power for charging phones, laptops and lights, with USB charging in the main kitchen. Power is limited, so please switch lights off when not in use.
We provide filtered drinking water from our clay purification system. Refill rather than buying bottled water.
The kitchen is yours to use. Tea, coffee, spices, oils and some basic ingredients are available, plus a kitchen garden worth a look. For bigger shops, we can point you to local shops, send a boda into town, or recommend our favourite places to eat.
Dogs, cats, birds and whatever else decides to pass through — they're part of Jungle life. They're friendly, but they're still animals, so it's worth being a little cautious around them.
Very welcome, but this isn't a childproofed property — open areas, the river, dogs, uneven ground, water pits and elevated places. Please keep an eye on children, particularly around the river.
Quiet hours are 10pm–7am. During the day the Jungle is relaxed and social; at night we try to keep things peaceful for everyone.
Fine outside. Please don't smoke inside the rooms or tents, and use the ashtrays provided.
Only registered guests can stay overnight. Want friends over during the day? Just ask us first — we'll usually work something out.
Our security team is on site 24 hours a day. Take normal care with valuables — we can store them securely if needed. Coming back late? Let the team know so they expect you.
Jinja Jungle is deliberately a little bit wild.
There will be insects. Things may grow where they're not supposed to. The river will do what rivers do. You may hear animals at night. You may get muddy. You may lose track of time.
We think these are features rather than bugs.
