Six acres of jungle.
Your own wild corner of the Nile.

Walk down through the garden and the trees, and you're in the river. Swim, paddle, cook, make fires, wander, read, watch birds, meet the animals — or do absolutely nothing and absorb the magic.

The river remembers how to slow down. So will you.

The Place

Come as you are.

Jinja Jungle is deliberately a little wild. Things grow where they want, dogs wander through the kitchen, hammocks appear under trees, and there's usually someone around cooking, reading or heading down to the river.

There are places to sleep, spaces to share, corners to hide in and plenty of ways to spend a day. You don't have to do any of them.

The gardens keep spreading, corners keep appearing, and half of what's here didn't exist a year ago. You're not visiting somewhere finished — you're visiting somewhere in progress.

Stay

Pick your spot in the jungle.

A converted shipping container, a canvas tent under the trees, or your own patch of the jungle — each a little different, each properly comfortable.

Wild outside, comfortable where it counts — we use good bedding throughout, so the important bits are always quality.

Canvas instead of steel. Same six acres.

Glamping

A proper bed inside a big canvas tent, set up as a double or a king, with your own little patio and the jungle all around. Close to the kitchen and living area, same trees, same river, same fire at night.

A Day Here

What do you actually do all day?

Nothing, mostly.

Wake up slowly.

Make coffee.

Go swimming.

Pick some herbs from the garden.

Take a kayak out.

Come back hungry and cook something.

Read under a tree.

Wander around and see what is growing.

Someone lights the fire.

Someone opens the Gin Jar.

The sun goes down.

The fireflies come out.

That's about it.

Who Comes Here

You might recognise yourself in this list.

Someone escaping Kampala for a night or two.

Couples who'd rather build a fire than book a spa treatment.

Friends road-tripping through Uganda, looking for one proper stop.

Solo travellers who don't need entertaining.

Remote workers who need Wi-Fi and a reason to close the laptop on time.

Writers, artists and other people who think better outdoors.

Groups who want to take over the whole place for a weekend.

If none of that sounds like you, come anyway. See what happens.

The Jungle

Six acres of green, with nowhere much you need to be.

Jinja Jungle is six acres of riverside land, part garden, part woodland, part overgrown wilderness. Paths that lead somewhere, and paths that just disappear.

You don't need to do much. That's rather the point.

The River

The Nile is at the bottom of the garden.

Not a view of it. Not a five-minute drive away. The actual river — swim, paddle, float, or just sit beside it.

The river sets the rhythm here.

However Long You're Here

Do as much or as little as you like.

You don't have to book an activity. You don't have to join anyone. You don't have to do anything.

You can cook your own food and disappear for the afternoon. Or sit around the fire with everyone else.

Some people come for a night. Some stay much longer than planned. That's the nice thing about the Jungle.

Good To Know

Before you get here.

It's six acres of jungle on the Nile — real weather, real animals, a garden that never stops growing. Here's the useful stuff: getting here, what to bring, the animals, the noise hours, and everything else worth knowing before you arrive.

"This place will make you want to walk barefoot, go vegan, and meditate. It is such a serene and spiritual place! ... There are also dogs running around which I loved."

"Had a wonderful time glamping. Beautiful property on the Nile and comfortable tent. Perfect spot for relaxing and kayaking a section of the river."
